Futsal: Murata dominate the top-of-the-table clash, Cailungo make a double leap
Murata had no intention of leaving room for misunderstanding: they swept aside Tre Penne in the head‑to‑head and made it very clear they have no plans to merely battle for first place. They simply want to make it their own private affair. Penserini’s men are halted after eight wins in a row and come away somewhat dazed from the marquee fixture of the rescheduled 14th matchday. Their league position remains extremely positive, however, even if Virtus and La Fiorita are now pressing them more closely. Murata had beaten San Giovanni 7-1 on Monday; they repeated the feat against their “cousins”, striking first through Aruci (6’) and then via Moretti for a 2-0 lead at half-time. Busignani got on the scoresheet to kick off the second half and De Angelis then turned the screw with a hat‑trick between the 34th and 40th minutes. Sabatino tried to make the evening slightly less bitter for Tre Penne, but it was not his to have the final say: that honour went to Moretti, who scored again just a minute later to complete his night with a brace. Virtus move to within two points of Tre Penne, the very side that had stopped them on Monday in their own head‑to‑head meeting. Folgore initially tried to make life difficult for the Neroverdi in the first half, with Pazzaglia cancelling out Belloni’s opener and Casali then turning the game on its head. Cevoli restored parity seven minutes later, before striking again at the start of the second half to make it 3-2 Virtus. Dolcini’s brace opened up a deep gap that Semproli’s strike could only slightly reduce. Only temporarily, in fact, because in the final four minutes plus stoppage time Virtus added two more goals and Folgore conceded an own goal: the Virtus scorers were Mularoni and Belloni, while the own goal was by Toccaceli.
Even so, Folgore manage to avoid being overtaken by Cosmos, and for this they have La Fiorita to thank. Pietrangeli’s men swept past Franchino’s side (their coach still suspended) and remain on Virtus’ tail, while also closing the gap on Tre Penne to five points. The match looked set to be hard-fought, but it ended in a clear‑cut victory for La Fiorita: 6-0. Tassitano opened the scoring just before the quarter‑hour mark, and the gap then widened exponentially thanks to two multi‑goal scorers: Matteo Chezzi, who bagged a hat‑trick, and Pellegrini, who struck twice. The defeats suffered by Folgore and Cosmos are certainly no bad news for Juvenes Dogana and Domagnano, who both won and significantly closed the gap in the upper mid‑table. The Wolves, who had beaten Folgore 3-0 earlier in the week, recorded another clean‑sheet victory – this time by a narrower margin. Gasperoni’s side needed just one goal to see off Tre Fiori: Hidri’s strike in the 18th minute of the first half. Juvenes, on the other hand, came out on top in a match with a completely different script. Their clash with Faetano finished 4-3: the undisputed star of the night was Nicolò Gianni, who put Juvenes Dogana in front after two minutes and then ran riot to complete his hat‑trick. Faetano, however, were anything but passive spectators. Rossi cancelled out Gianni’s first goal, Menghi his second, and Forcellini – unfortunately for him, as it was an own goal – his third. The match remained finely balanced until the 58th minute, when Thomas Celli delivered the decisive blow, allowing Juvenes Dogana to draw level on points with Cosmos and move to within two points of Folgore.
Faetano suffered a third consecutive defeat and slipped one place in the standings: not behind Libertas, who remain on the same points, but behind Cailungo, who won the derby against the Granata and made a double leap into tenth place. The Rossoverdi struck at both ends of the match: in the 5th minute through Lotti and in the 58th through Flammini, shortly after Baldelli was sent off for a second yellow card. Venerucci and Pollini’s players needed a reaction after losing to Fiorentino, and they delivered. At Libertas, however, it is still a very dark time: they have now slipped dangerously close to the trio of clubs currently outside the play‑off places. Among these are San Giovanni, beaten by Pennarossa with a double‑digit scoreline. The Chiesanuova side did not make up ground on La Fiorita, but they did pull clear of Folgore, at least securing fifth place with a very reassuring ten‑point cushion. As against Murata, San Giovanni took the lead, only to be overwhelmed by their opponents. Zafferani’s 6th‑minute goal briefly raised Rossoneri hopes, but only for a moment: Toccaceli levelled within sixty seconds and the first Biancorossi tidal wave began to build. Maiani, Timpani and Verri made it 4-1 at the break; in the second half, after Volpinari’s instant reply for 4-2, another unstoppable wave followed: Timpani returned to the scoresheet twice more, matched by Verri. Stefanelli also scored a brace, while Cappelli and Brighi joined the goal fest to seal a final scoreline of 12-2.
