Futsal: Murata make no mistake, inspired by De Angelis hat-trick

The 15 goals scored by Virtus do nothing to unsettle Murata, who win the first of the two games in hand and reclaim top spot on their own in the Single Group. The reigning champions need only a few seconds to strike against Domagnano. Busignani’s ball in behind finds Ghiotti in space, and he is quick and composed in setting up De Angelis: all it takes from the latter is a side-foot finish to make it 1-0. Shortly afterwards Moretti goes clean through on Muraccini, who denies him with a fine save at his feet. Then it is a matter of centimetres that deprives De Angelis of his second of the night - and once again Ghiotti would have provided the assist. In any case, Murata remain in full control. And in the 5th minute they double their lead through Moretti, who beats Menghi down the flank and then fires powerfully at the near post, the ball finding a double gap between the legs of Hidri and those of Muraccini. The same Moretti soon goes close to his own brace, but an alert Muraccini keeps him out. At the other end, Protti runs out of the seconds available to restart play and Domagnano earn a free-kick on the edge of the box. Hidri, however, cannot get the ball over the thick wall lined up on the goal-line. From the ensuing long throw by the black-and-whites’ goalkeeper, Muraccini pulls off a great reflex save to keep out De Angelis’ header. Murata then commit a second lapse, forcing Protti to touch the ball twice in the same passage of play (otherwise it would have rolled into his own net). Another free-kick is awarded on the line of the penalty area and again Hidri steps up to take it, this time being stopped by Protti himself. From the continuation of the move, Gatti misses the 2-1 goal by a matter of inches. Before the break there is more work for Muraccini as he saves from close range on Ghiotti. Soon after, Busignani adds to the scoreline with a strike from distance, helped on its way by a deflection off Sensoli. The second half starts as the first did: with a lightning goal from De Angelis. This time it all stems from the link-up between Ghiotti and Busignani. The latter anticipates Muraccini’s rush off his line and squares for De Angelis, who then finishes into an empty net. As usual, Murata turn to the flying goalkeeper. Busignani, though, misjudges the timing of his pass into the middle and Menghi, having gathered the ball, immediately launches it towards the unguarded goal: the Giallorossi captain’s effort crashes against the underside of the bar, then bounces back into play. Domagnano show themselves again in attack with a run down the flank by Menghi followed by a ball into the middle for Vagnini. He turns and shoots quickly, missing the target by not very much. Murata resume their pressure, making it 5-0 through De Angelis (his hat-trick) from a corner situation. Then comes 6-0 from Morri, who makes the most of the excellent work on the wing by Busignani – and then of De Angelis’ assist – to unleash a powerful, well-placed finish. Shortly afterwards, the post comes to Domagnano’s rescue on the execution of a set-piece routine started and finished by Busignani. In the closing stages Domagnano grow in belief. Pascucci scores a fine goal, like a seasoned pivot, spinning away from Ghiotti and driving his right-footed effort in off the underside of the bar. Then Menghi makes it 6-2, finishing off a pass from Pascucci himself. In between, Busignani had struck the woodwork for the second time and, after the 6-2, finds himself forced to ‘argue’ with the reflexes of Agostini, who does very well to repel the powerful right-footed effort of the black-and-whites’ captain. Before the final whistle there is still time for one last Domagnano chance: Hidri races away down the wing and opts to shoot early towards Protti’s goal, with the goalkeeper turning it behind for a corner. It ends with a second consecutive defeat for Domagnano, who tomorrow could lose further ground on Juvenes-Dogana, in action against Cailungo.
