Futsal: only in Domagnano were the games in the balance as the table splits in two
At the end of the first half of the season, there are at least five contenders for second place in the standings, with Fiorentino who – by winning tomorrow’s late fixture at the Multieventi against Pennarossa – could reach the halfway mark with a perfect record and an eight-point lead over their nearest chasers.
In this case, that means Folgore. Zonzini’s side even hit double figures against Cailungo, with six different players finding the net. Alongside Giardi, Tassitano and Biordi, there were multiple goals for Bernardi and Pasqualini (both with braces), and for Chezzi, who recorded a hat-trick. Tre Fiori and La Fiorita keep pace, sitting two and three points respectively behind the San Marino runners-up. The club from Fiorentino sweep aside Faetano with a 6-1 scoreline, with the opposition goal closing out the scoresheet: Scarponi salvages some pride on 60 minutes, when Tre Fiori had already struck through Crescentini, Lorenzo Burioni, Andreani, Conti and Verri – the latter scoring twice. The only blot on the copybook was Filippo Burioni’s dismissal in the 42nd minute with the score at 2-0.
It’s a serious headache for Alex Bugli, who next week will have to face La Fiorita at the Multieventi. The Gialloblù from Montegiardino come into it off the back of a five-goal haul against Libertas, who fell to braces from Gualandi and Giuccioli after Bernardi had broken the deadlock inside just three minutes. The Granata also had to cope with Ruben Casadei being sent off on 41 minutes, but still managed to keep a clean sheet during the ensuing two minutes of opposition power-play.
On the final Monday of the month, another head-to-head will catch the eye of futsal fans: Murata and Virtus, currently level in fifth place, will meet again after both winning their respective fixtures last night. In both cases, the games proved tougher than expected. Virtus in fact changed ends with the score still goalless against San Giovanni, who then took the lead through Ugolini on 35 minutes. It was down to Aruci and Tamburrano – scoring on 40 and 48 minutes respectively – that Pollini’s men claimed their ninth win in fourteen matchdays. Two minutes from time Zamboni was unable to convert the third goal from a 10-metre free-kick, without having too many regrets at the final whistle.
Murata, for their part, were not called upon to mount a comeback, but still had to wait until the final two minutes to seal victory in the derby with Tre Penne. The star of the show was Rizzo, who opened the scoring inside 300 seconds and then forced the own goal off Ercolani for 2-0. After the break, Gamba pulled one back, only for Felici to restore Murata’s cushion. The match then swung again with another response from the Biancazzurri, this time through Benedettini, before the decisive late blows – on 58 and 60 minutes – from the ever-reliable Rizzo and from Belloni, who continues to find the net in this second half of the season under Cellarosi. The San Marino coach will certainly have been displeased with Moretti’s red card, which rules him out of next week’s crucial clash with Virtus.
Levani’s Juvenes-Dogana climb back into seventh place, three points behind the pair immediately ahead of them. They did so at the expense of Domagnano, who they faced and swept aside last night with a clear 5-0. The Biancorossazzurri went in front thanks to former Domagnano player William Cavalli, while an own goal from Filippo Dolcini left the Wolves 2-0 down at half-time. After the restart Fabio Gasperoni’s side were unable to find a way back into the game and eventually collapsed to further strikes from Gianni, Borasco and Zonzini, rounding off a superb evening for Juvenes-Dogana.
