Futsal, here we go again: referee training camp yesterday, league kicks off tomorrow

After the San Marino Super Cup was assigned in midweek (Fiorentino-Folgore 3-1, click here), the futsal season is ready to get underway again for referees and for the clubs not involved in the match won by the Rossoblù – the reigning champions. Yesterday, at San Marino Stadium, the pre-season technical meeting dedicated to match officials took place. Massimo Nanni (CAN San Marino) addressed the key aspects of preparing for official matches, before turning the spotlight on the rule changes proposed for the new season – at the same time opening up the topic of technical guidelines. Before a short break, there were greetings from FSGC President Marco Tura and Secretary General Luigi Zafferani, who wished everyone present all the best for a demanding season which – hopefully – will be full of satisfaction. They were not the only special guests, as Andrea Farabini, Vice President of the FIGC Futsal Division and UEFA Delegate for futsal, also took part in the work. Immediately after the coffee break, the discussion on rule amendments and technical directives resumed and continued into the afternoon. Not before, however, a moment of light-heartedness and pure team building involving all San Marino match officials. In the middle of the afternoon, attention turned to the match analysis of last Wednesday’s meeting between Fiorentino and Folgore, which saw D’Adamo, Piccoli, Ilie and Lerza in action – the officials appointed for the San Marino Super Cup. A final focus on conduct aimed at the referee observers effectively closed the technical camp for futsal referees, who had already completed their physical and athletic tests together with the 11-a-side colleagues at the end of August. If the referees are itching for the restart, the same can certainly be said for the clubs, who are already in action tomorrow and Wednesday evening with the opening matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese. Of all the teams, only La Fiorita will have to wait until the second round for their seasonal debut. In Fiorentino there is immediately a fascinating fixture: the defending champions will face Virtus, one of the sides that strengthened the most in the summer transfer window, partly by recruiting from the Rossoblù themselves. Afterwards it will be the turn of Tre Fiori and Faetano, on the same pitch. In Dogana, a Pennarossa side renewed in both personnel and ambition will test their level of preparation against one of last season’s most pleasant surprises. Levani’s Juvenes-Dogana will in fact be under special observation this year. Folgore-Cailungo will round off the schedule on the artificial pitch adjacent to the "Ezio Conti" Stadium. In Domagnano, meanwhile, it will be Libertas-Murata. A tough start for the Granata, who will be up against a team built to win. After all, the return of Protti and Busignani to the black and white ranks makes it impossible to approach the title race with low expectations. Domagnano-San Giovanni is the first of two indoor fixtures this week: the midweek match that will mark the seasonal debut of Tre Penne and Cosmos will also be played indoors. In both cases, the Multieventi will host the two games scheduled for 21:45. Here is the schedule for Matchday 1 of the 2024-25 Campionato Sammarinese di futsal:
