Futsal: Tre Fiori hanging by a thread, Libertas and Faetano closing in on their goal

The Campionato Sammarinese di futsal returns and, with only two rounds left in the regular season, there are few issues still unresolved. Top spot is not among them, having long since been secured by Murata, who tomorrow – on the single evening dedicated to the fixtures of Matchday 29 – face Tre Penne in a derby that will also have no impact on the table for the Biancoazzurri. In fact, Penserini’s side, who before the break had rediscovered momentum after a brief dip, have no way of improving on fourth place, not least because they will sit out the next round. Nor are they under threat from the teams behind: Folgore, in fifth, are ten points back and therefore certain to have to go through the doors of the Preliminary Round. Murata and Tre Penne, then, will be on court simply to extend their respective unbeaten runs – the reigning champions’ streak being by far the more sparkling. They play in Domagnano at 20:15. Afterwards, on the same green, it’s Domagnano versus Tre Fiori. Both have a lot on the line. But the stakes are significantly higher for Tre Fiori, who are chasing a play-off spot from four points back and cannot afford any slip-ups between now and the end of the regular season. Even that might not be enough: should Libertas and Faetano win their respective matches, Bugli’s side would see their hopes end tomorrow night regardless of whether or not they take all three points against Domagnano. Defeat, on the other hand, would in any case prove fatal for the Gialloblù from Fiorentino, who as mentioned are up against a side that still have an important target in view of the post season. Domagnano are currently one point behind Cosmos: coming out on top in this scrap would mean that the Wolves would face Franchino’s Gialloverdi in the Preliminary Round (that pairing is guaranteed in any case) from a position of advantage, given that the two teams currently occupy eighth and ninth place and can only swap positions – nothing more. Tre Fiori also need to react to a recent trend of two defeats as well as to that of the three previous meetings this season, all of which went Domagnano’s way. The latter can instead ride the wave of a brilliant pre-break victory.

This is not the only potential two-way battle. There are other sprint finishes that will draw attention right up to the final whistle of the last regular-season matchday. The highest-placed tie (literally) is between Virtus and La Fiorita, battling it out for second place. The two teams are level on 63 points but Virtus currently lead thanks to head-to-head results. Virtus have recently bounced back with three wins on the spin and are targeting a fourth at the expense of a Folgore side who are themselves in excellent form, and above all determined to wrap up fifth place early. At present the Giallorossoneri are four points clear of the Pennarossa–Juvenes Dogana duo, which means a win would give Zonzini’s men mathematical certainty. Virtus will also be going all out for the three points, with no intention of giving ground to a La Fiorita side who have done nothing but win (six times) since the head-to-head with the Acquaviva outfit. Pierpaolo Pientrangeli’s agenda features Cosmos, who must withstand pressure from Domagnano but have recently been able to breathe again after two defeats in as many derbies. This will be the match that opens the evening in Dogana, which will conclude with Cailungo–Libertas. As mentioned, the Granata – like Faetano – need only a win to officially book their ticket for the Preliminary Round. Cailungo, on the other hand – assured of tenth place – are playing less for the table than for the prestige of three points in a derby, as well as to erase the 0-4 defeat suffered at the hands of Folgore before the break.

Pennarossa have not yet given up on fifth place, but must first and foremost focus on sixth, currently shared with Juvenes Dogana – who, however, trail in the head-to-heads. Not only that: the Chiesanuova side badly need to rediscover the sparkle they showed at the start of 2026, which has clearly faded of late as they have collected two defeats and a draw, allowing Juvenes to catch up. On paper the prediction is straightforward, because Pennarossa are up against a San Giovanni side almost resigned to finishing the season bottom of the table. That “almost”, reinforced by Fiorentino (second from bottom) having a bye, will presumably provide fuel for the Rossoneri and represent the most serious obstacle for Pennarossa, who feature in the second of the two fixtures in Fiorentino. The last match of the evening will also be the only indoor one. At the Acquaviva Sports Hall, Juvenes Dogana will do everything they can to claim a third straight win and keep their bid for sixth place alive; facing Cellarosi’s men will be a Faetano side hoping to seal their play-off spot. That target is guaranteed with a win and still possible with any of the other two results. Everything there will depend on what Tre Fiori have done in the meantime, as they kick off a quarter of an hour earlier than Selva’s team.
