League: Cosmos and La Fiorita unstoppable, Pennarossa hold Tre Penne
The first goalless draw of the weekend was down to Pennarossa’s effective defensive work, able to repel every attempt from a very enterprising Tre Penne who, on the day, could not turn their dominance into goals. It was Dolci’s men, however, who had the first clear chance, freeing Famiglietti in front of Manzaroli, who made sure Migani was not missed by blocking the former Academy striker. That was followed by three surges from Tommaso Guidi, who began a long‑distance duel with Renzetti: the Pennarossa goalkeeper would come out on top every time. The keeper was a key figure after the break as well, when Tre Penne became dangerous from set pieces. Berardi’s side looked certain to take the lead when Dormi unleashed a low left‑footer from the edge of the box: Renzetti was beaten but the ball shaved the upright. The Biancorossi did not just sit back, frequently looking for Famiglietti up front. Even so, the pressure from the opposition always looked likely to result in a goal. It never did, thanks also to the superb save by Renzetti on Guidi in the 89th minute. Tre Penne found the net in the 90+7th minute, but Barretta controlled with his arm before striking the ball into Pennarossa’s goal, which – with the very last ball of the game – had the chance to take all three points home. Montalti started and finished a counter‑attack, arriving in the opposition area after a 60‑metre burst. The centre‑back showed both his lack of feeling with the goal and the toll of the energy expended, blazing his right‑footed effort over the bar. Pennarossa can nonetheless celebrate their first point of the season, having held Tre Penne to a goalless draw.
La Fiorita move up to the summit, which they share today with three other sides. It was a remarkable show of strength from Ceci’s team who, after an early scare from a D’Amico break, got the game exactly where they wanted it thanks to two moments of brilliance from Vitaioli and Semprini. The San Marino forward caught Forconesi off his line, beating him with a looping header from a Cicarelli cross. Semprini, La Fiorita’s hero of their European summer, then produced a perfect piece of technique to double the lead with a flying volley from the edge of the box. Just after the half‑hour mark, Faetano lost the ball playing out from the back and were punished by Ambrosini, set up by Olcese. Ricchiuti’s men produced a reaction, pulling one back from a set piece with a fine right‑footed strike from D’Amico. For Faetano, though, it was only a flash in the pan. After the restart, La Fiorita took off with braces from Olcese and Gasperoni. The striker opened his personal tally from the spot, converting a penalty awarded for a handball by Raviele. At the other end, Faetano protested about a clash between Semprini and Parisi, which the referee judged to be fair. Shortly afterwards, D’Amico hit the side‑netting with what could have been the 2-4. Two minutes later, Gasperoni effectively put the three points on ice, reacting first to a Forconesi save from Affonso’s effort. The captain then put the ball on a plate for Olcese to complete his brace on 74 minutes, before doing the same again two minutes later and wrapping up the game against Faetano with a final scoreline of 7-1.
The late kick-off at the Ezio Conti in Dogana, where Cailungo and Cosmos met, brought the curtain down on Matchday 3 of the Campionato Sammarinese. Roberto Sarti’s Gialloverdi set up to play on the break, threatening early on with a left‑footer from Lago that struck the post of an alert Celato. His opposite number Gallinetta had to dive to his right to turn away a right‑footed effort from distance by Badalassi. From the resulting corner, the same striker darted to the near post and sent his effort just wide. Not even the third opportunity was the right one: again the forward was off target, this time from a floated cross by Pastorelli. Ben Kacem fared no better, forcing Gallinetta into action on the half‑hour. The goal was in the air and duly arrived in a familiar fashion: Fatica peeled away from the blocks and met Errico’s corner with a first‑time left‑footed volley to break the deadlock. Early in the second half, Lepri’s men wasted at least three big chances to double the lead through Badalassi and Errico, before finally making it 2-0 with a right‑footed strike from Grassi, deflected by Iuzzolino. Cailungo had the chance to get back into it on 56 minutes, but Mattia Sarti sent a wonderful Hirsch cross over the bar. As so often happens, from the missed goal came the goal conceded: Ben Kacem showed off his extraordinary pace to gift Badalassi the ball to make it 3-0 into an empty net. The scoreline swelled further with a tap‑in from Ben Kacem himself, first to the rebound after Gallinetta had again denied Badalassi, and then a penalty coolly converted by Fermi.
