League: top five all in action tomorrow
It promises to be a busy and intense Saturday as the 24th matchday of the BKN301 Championship gets underway. On the first weekend of March, all of the top five in the table will be in action tomorrow, with the title race wide open after the most recent head‑to‑heads. Virtus and La Fiorita are now level on 58 points – with the Neroverdi ahead thanks to the head‑to‑head record – while Tre Penne are just four points back. The Neroverdi and the Gialloblu will both kick off tomorrow at 15:00. Virtus travel to Fiorentino to face Faetano: Girolomoni’s Gialloblu are not going through their best spell (one win in their last five) but are chasing points to move closer to the play-off zone (currently 5 points away). For Bizzotto’s Neroverdi, forward Loris Tortori will miss out through suspension. It is effectively top versus bottom in Domagnano, where La Fiorita meet Pennarossa. Dolci’s Biancorossi are still without a win and remain rooted to last place with just two points so far. Manfredini’s side bounced back to winning ways after the setback against Virtus and are targeting their 20th victory (from 24 games). There will be three players suspended for the 15:00 kick‑off: Diedhiou is out for Pennarossa, while captain Marco Gasperoni and Matteo Vitaioli will be missing for La Fiorita. Just behind the leading duo, Tre Penne are keen to keep their excellent run of form going. The reigning champions have won seven games in a row, powered by a superb Badalassi, ever more firmly the league’s top scorer. Tomorrow the Biancazzurri – without suspended coach Stefano Ceci on the bench – take on Fiorentino at 18:15: the Rossoblu sit comfortably in mid‑table but have not won in three.
On the back of their winning streak in recent weeks, Cosmos are looking to respond. Berardi’s side have gone three games without a win – with just a single point collected – and now appear to have fallen out of the title race (the summit is 10 points away). Tomorrow in Montecchio at 18:15 it will be a Serravalle “derby” against an in‑form Juvenes-Dogana. Amati’s men are unbeaten in four (three wins and a draw) and want to hold on to seventh place, which gives direct access to the play‑offs. Just behind Cosmos – only two points back – are Tre Fiori, who tomorrow face San Marino Academy. De Falco’s Gialloblu come into the game after losing to Juvenes-Dogana and are winless in two. Cecchetti’s Titani – the coach having previously been in charge of Tre Fiori – claimed three vital points last weekend against Fiorentino to stay close to the play‑off places. There is one suspension per side: De Lucia for Tre Fiori, Nicolò Sancisi for the Academy. Kick‑off is at 15:00 on the artificial pitch in Montecchio.
Completing Saturday afternoon’s fixtures is the clash between Domagnano and Cailungo. The Giallorossi are the best side in the lower mid‑table, having gone five games unbeaten. Thanks to this positive trend, Rossi’s team remain firmly in 11th place, which is good enough for the play-offs, and tomorrow they will look to pull further clear against a Cailungo side sinking deeper into crisis. The Rossoverdi have lost 13 in a row, with the play-off zone drifting ever further away. As for suspensions: Kevin Zonzini will miss out for Cailungo and Emanuele Gregori for Domagnano.
There will be only two fixtures on Sunday. One of the standout games sees Murata face Folgore, kicking off at 15:00 in Montecchio. The Bianconeri sit sixth and are now virtually assured of direct access to the play‑offs; Angelini’s men have also picked up two wins in their last three. Folgore, coached by Lasagni, returned to winning ways in the last round against Faetano. The Falciano club – currently ninth – are aiming to close the gap on the “cousins” Juvenes-Dogana in seventh. However, Enrico Golinucci will be absent in midfield, having received a one‑match ban. The other Sunday match, also at 15:00, is between San Giovanni and Libertas. The Rossoneri are tenth on 27 points and enjoy a decent cushion over the chasing pack. Among those chasers are the Granata, now up to 13th thanks to their narrow win over Cailungo last time out. A victory would see Libertas, currently on 20 points, significantly boost their hopes in view of the post‑season.
