Futsal: Fiorita and Pennarossa held and slip back, Cosmos climb to fifth

There’s more than one shake-up at the top end of the table after the first matchday of 2026. Murata stay out in front and Tre Penne hold on to second place – just a single point behind the Bianconeri – while La Fiorita drop to fourth, overtaken by Virtus (on goal difference). Just behind them, Pennarossa are leapfrogged by Cosmos and Folgore, with Juvenes-Dogana now breathing right down the neck of the Chiesanuova side. The latter were involved in the most intriguing fixture of the entire 17th round, against La Fiorita. It finished 0-0, bringing both runs to an end: a losing streak for the Biancorossi, a winning streak for the Gialloblù. Tre Penne are more than happy and take sole ownership of second place, staying on the heels of leaders Murata. Cola, Sabatino and Beinat shape the first half of the clash in Fiorentino very much in favour of Penserini’s side. After the break Faetano attempt a comeback through Guidi, but that hope is snuffed out almost immediately by Cola’s second of the night. Rosa’s strike adds a little interest to the final quarter of the game, but there are no further twists: Tre Penne make it four wins in a row and Faetano are forced to postpone their climb up the table. Matteo Selva’s team, however, are not currently under pressure from behind. Tre Fiori go down in the indoor match with Cosmos, the new fifth force in the league - now on a run of five consecutive victories. Molinas opens and closes the poker for Franchino’s men, with another brace – this time from Bacciocchi – in between. All this after Tre Fiori had broken the deadlock through Severi, and then finished the match without Crescentini (sent off for dissent), having earlier survived, in first-half stoppage time, a 10-metre penalty taken by Molinas: Pelliccioni hypnotises the Argentine-born player, who nonetheless gets his revenge in the second half.

So Cosmos are fifth, as mentioned, with Folgore right on the heels of their yellow-and-green cousins thanks to a third straight win, this time at the expense of San Giovanni. The Giallorossoneri go ahead on 6 minutes through Ottaviani and then double their lead in the 22nd minute with Ercolani. Gracik pulls one back for San Giovanni at the start of the second half, but after 10 minutes Alan Bacciocchi restores a two-goal cushion for the Falciano side. There is another attempt at a comeback from the Rossoneri with Rossi and another response from Folgore, who again turn to captain Ercolani to seal the victory and make their overtaking of Pennarossa official. For now, San Giovanni must wait a little longer to get back to picking up points, but they do at least remain level on the bottom rung of the table with Fiorentino, heavily beaten by Virtus, who are third alongside La Fiorita but ahead on goal difference. The scoresheet from the second match in Domagnano is opened only in first-half stoppage time, when Belloni puts the Acquaviva side in front. Morini doubles the lead shortly after the change of ends, but Fiorentino take only a few minutes to halve the deficit through Moroni. However, it proves to be a flash in the pan: Virtus restore their two-goal advantage through Stolfi and then run away to a 6-1 win, capitalising on the form of Belloni (a brace for him) and Cevoli, as well as an own goal by Paoloni. Murata also open up a big gap between themselves and their opponents on the night, Cailungo. The leaders run out 7-0 winners, breaking the deadlock on 9 minutes with Moretti before adding further goals through Aruci, Mattioli, a brace from Busignani, and strikes from De Angelis and Dominella. The meeting between Juvenes Dogana and Libertas is much tighter. The Biancorossoazzurri record a second successive win, but only after plenty of hard work. In fact, after just 2 minutes they find themselves behind, with Libertas already on the scoresheet through Paolini. Gatti levels within a few minutes, before Simone Celli completes the turnaround in the 23rd minute. The 2-1 scoreline holds until the midway point of the second half, when Gatti’s second gives his side a bit more breathing space – which disappears, however, when Paesini, on 54 minutes, blows the game wide open again by making it 3-2. There will be no comeback from the Granata, though, who are condemned to a fourth defeat in a row. Juvenes Dogana, on the other hand, bring home a victory that significantly closes the gap on Pennarossa while at the same time doubling their advantage over Domagnano, who had the week off.
